Godaddylures.com's "Custom Hybrid"
4 out of 5!
Next in line for all of you anglers is the "Custom Hybrid" by Godaddylures.com.
Do you want the freedom of changing colors with ease? Are you, like many other anglers looking for another exciting top water action bait? Let us personally tell you, you're in luck!
The idea behind this lure is to build it to your liking. Simply go to www.godaddylures.com and you may select your custom preferences for this lure. Blade colors, hook colors and of course your choice of frog. Now that you have the general idea, let's hit the water!
This lure is a mix between a top water frog and a buzz bait. HTB staff loves the fact you get double the action. First is the standard buzz blade ripping through the water and secondly at the same time the pitter patter of frog legs leaving a nice trail of bubbles not far behind. So how do you fish it? We'll never using the bait before we tried a little bit of everything. You can slow roll retrieve the bait just under the surface of the water, let it sink and rip it to the top, or our favorite, treat it like your standard buzz bait on top.
This lure was tested in Virginia, South Carolina and Mexico. After seeing its numbers, it's no wonder why many said it was "Muy bueno." As you can see the only low ranking was its cost. One of these custom lures cost 6.99 w/o shipping. Take into consideration that these baits are hand made and tuned to perfection it's understandable. On another section of their website they offer standard pre-made baits for $5.99 and a five lure special for $25.00. A great deal! Another advantage of using this bait was many of the anglers already had more frogs with them and loved the fact you could switch it out as if you were just fishing a top water frog. One angler said, "... this lure will always stay in my top three for top water baits." Another said "I would be willing to pay .50 more if it came with another frog in the package."
Great! So how many fish did we catch? Nearly endless amounts in Mexico where we were fishing top water a lot. Unfortunately, the bass are having a photo shoot about 40 feet down with our camera or else we would show you some of the lunkers. Who has the last laugh now? Well that's what we were told by the end of the trip. In all, we loved the bait and would recommend you pick up these up A.S.A.P. We believe like one of our testers said, it will stay in your top three top water bait selections forever.
