Mark Packs' "Live" Magic Shad!
4.75 out of 5!
Lake Fork Trophy Bait & Tackle really did it this time. No other swimbait have we been this excited about before. It's advancements in technology that really put a spin on how we use and see bait and tackle tomorrow. So here's the story:
HTB received one of these bad boys and of course like children we ran out to the local pond. We tried it out and of course success! In no time we had a bite (that got away) and a few moments later one on the hook. We absolutely loved it, the action under the water and the subtle vibration it gave off just seemed right. So why did we only catch one then leave? The bait itself was finished and would no longer stay on the hook after that last bass attacked it. Our solution? Superglue!
We bought a boat load more of these things and headed to the lake. Half not tampered with and the other half with superglue on the nose and a dab at the hook exit. We found some local anglers and asked them to test out the bait. We gave them the untampered baits and said we would return in two hours. Of course we returned and asked them about the bait.
We asked the anglers to rate it on fishability, reusability, action, cost, and color seclection. We provided the cost and let them view the color selection. All anglers on a rating of 1 to 5 gave the fishability a 5. Reusability however fell a little short. Two members gave it a 2. Two other members gave it a 3, and the last member gave it a 4. The member to give it a 4 didn't catch anything but still didn't give it a 5 because after a number of casts the bait started to fall off the hook. All rated the action at 5. Cost received four 4's and one 3. Lastly color selection got four 5's and one 4. Along with our votes its total rating came to 4.3 with out the use of superglue. Still a great score!
Now we passed out our modified baits with the superglue and again returned in 2 hours. All voted a 5 for fishability, two voted 5 for reusability and the other three voted 4. Action still had 5's across the board as well as color. Cost this time went up with four 4's and one 5. With our scores it totaled out to 4.75. We asked the anglers why the higher ranking on price this time. They replied by saying if you can use the bait longer than it really ends up paying for itself. The higher reusability scores obviously were becasue of the fact that you could use it more without the bait falling off.
Our Conclusion is that Lake Fork Trophy Bait and Tackle's "Live" Magic Shad is a big winner! You'll be even more happy if you would just place a tad bit of superglue on the nose and at the hook exit. We've seen for one single swimbait the price up to 2 dollars. You can also find them in a 4 pack. We have found prices for a 4 pack up to 5.99. If you can find a 4 pack get it. It will save you some money. Below are some graphs how the lure was with and without superglue based on our findings.
