   Many anglers are used to the idea of worms, creature baits and tubes. Well get prepared for an awesome line of softbaits that you need to have for your next trip! The pictures below give you a great preview of what Rockin K Custom Baits have accomplished with what we are calling the softbait "morph."

        On board with us for this trip? Good! Back to our local lake, we sent our staff out and about and went in search for our random anglers. We think this is the best way to get an honest opinion about the baits and lures we test out; don't you?

    We tested out a total of 3 different softbaits. The first, Rockin K's 4.25" "Spade." Very similar to a finesse worm but square in nature with a spade shaped tail. The second bait, the "fence post" is today's version of the common stick bait. The one we tested out had an extra added beaver tail. Lastly, the third bait tested, (and our favorite) is called "The Hairy Bug" and for good reason. Similar to a beast of beaver as many call them, this bait has a thin tube skirt in front.

    Although all the baits tested were great, we wanted to focus on the unique "Hairy Bug." The tube skirt in the front is a really innovative idea and gave the bait a spectacular action underwater. One individual caught his limit on 2 hairy bugs within the first hour of testing it out. Testing baits in the south can be interesting at times and not because of the baits, but because of the anglers you can meet. This individual who we'll call "Bob" said, "... this is the next best thing to pancakes!" We thought it was funny too, but on a serious note, this thing caught fish. He had it rigged carolina style and said it worked magic for him.

    Only 2 out of 5 of our random anglers actually fished the hairy bug due to quantity. However, with the positive reviews from our staff and random anglers about the bug, we thought we would do you the favor and get some underwater footage of the little guy.     As you can see, all baits tested recieved a combined score of 4.76. Everyone was pleased with the baits to say the least. Being "internet people" ourselves, we also wanted to give Rockin K Custom Baits website a big thumbs up.
